First, you need a lesson on how to have a conversation. Second, Apple is a hardware company. If allowing people to install Windows on their computers will allow them to sell more, then so be it. My company has started letting us purchase Mac now, since it can run some of our Windows only programs. I think bootcamp was a great move. You still have to buy a Mac to use it, so what's the problem.
Why the **** would Apple ever pre-install Windows on a Mac.
If they went that route then they might as well just cancel all develop on OS X, because they would need that money to pay Microsoft.
I honestly feel that Boot Camp is one of the worst things that Apple could ever do, but they had to appease the little kids. But just wait until the first virus hits your Windows partition and screws up the boot sector of your drive and you're unable to start either OS.
God, some people!
A lot of resellers are already preinstalling XP on Intel Macs.

I used to pirate then stopped. A responsible businessman should and in some cases has to when they use their software and hardware for legitimate purposes. It's a major tax write off at least.
I was still in college when I was using CS1 and CS2. Either way, I eventually grew up and purchased the EDU version of the software with my own cash. And at that time by the way, hacked versions were far more unstable. You couldn't update them, you had to run patching scripts ever so often, plugins wouldn't work or would crash the system etc. It was just better to have the legit copy and keep it moving instead of spending time troubleshooting your scripts.
I don't know how it is now, but I know that it was that way up until CS3 based on the students at my job that still pirated software.
I am sure said person (who doesn't work in the design field) would want to take up design and production as a part-time/tennis shoe money job to support their family yet doesn't have the money to get CS so they just steal it???????
This person wouldn't want to get a part-time job that doesn't need him to steal? Or he/she could just claim he's/she's a student/educator and pay for the EDU version . . . at the VERY LEAST.
Read the comment thoroughly. ANYONE can learn the apps, any goofball like you stated yourself in the bold. I didn't put any time restraint on this goofball. But I did mention that it take far more to be a good designer.
Yes it is IMHO. Far better than just taking it. At least you are paying something for someone's work. Using your student ID at the movies, camera shop for film and agitator, Apple store, etc is far better than just stealing from them out right.
No hard feelings bro.
All good points. Let's leave it as different people in different circumstances. For the record, it's not right for anyone to pirate software. However, there are some people, in some situations, that feel that doing the right thing at the time isn't always the best thing. Definitely no hard feelings - just discussion.

i bought a macbook 2ghz core duo, 1gb, 80gb, superdrive at the apple store this past sunday. it looks like now i could of gotten the core 2 duo with all the other same specs for about $200 cheaper. does anyone know if apple has some sort of exchange policy for situations like this?
Apple has a 14 day return policy, bring it back.
Can't hurt to try, anyway :)

Maybe Apple's improving - the last two PBs I owned had their MOTHERBOARDs recalled. Now its just my battery.
Yep, I'm affected - web site was slow but accepted my serial, confirmed my recall status, and then asked me for my address.
I have a PBG4 15" 1.67ghz (SD 01/2006 model) purchased 10/06 as a refurb.
I don't think this will hurt Apple, but it will hurt Sony big time.

LMAO, what did you think this was going to be? Drop a few bombs and disappear? The talk now is that these Rebels fighting Gaddafi have plenty of Al Qaeda in their ranks. This is not going to be a quick in-n-out. Obama's illegal war will be his legacy (well, that and his failed socialized medicine scheme).
Well, I'm certainly glad you're not letting blind partisanship guide your thinking... Oy.

Apple is at the core a software company.
No, Apple is a hardware company.
Both of you are wrong, Apple is a vertical systems integrator and vendor.
Apple is a marketing company above all else.
The truth is Apple is a Systems Company.
:)
Good work... :) No wonder Apple is the most valued tech company in the world, it is just so many things wrapped in one ;)

Clarify please. You just threw that out of the blue. I'm not understanding where you're getting that from.
What I meant to say is that the things we suggest and clamor for here are things which Apple already knows.
We aren't going to alter their course with any of our statements, save for that 1 in 1000.
Apple is a $5-7 billion dollar company (depending on AAPL when you read this). A full fledged chip maturation is a multi billion dollar process, thusly Apple relies on other larger companies to fab its chips. It provides input, but it is a slave to their whims. Sadly, Motorola's whims have not included advancing the G4 at a 'market leading' pace.
We can tell Apple what we want them to do, but they are aware, and they are doing.
A Power4 derivative with 160+ vector instructions just doesn't make sense for IBM to develop, if they don't have a specific user, or feel like adding Vector based instructions to AIX.
So do what you will, but know that you won't change the future in a positive way by vocalizing.

It has nothing to do with any characteristics inherent to Africans. It has everything to do with socioeconomic status, prejudice and politics. The culture of violence in urban, poor communities is only connected with race in that it is a symptom of prejudice.
Like I said - nothing genetic.
In the US there are far more white people with guns than blacks, and far more "anti-intellecutal" whites (c.f. the Tea Party) than blacks, and far more poor, uneducated white people committing crime than blacks. If you place white people (or any ethnicity for that matter) in the same sociopolitical/socioeconomic environment, the same crime problems result. Many rural areas in the American south or Appalachia that are almost exclusively white are every bit as poor, uneducated and crime-ridden as any urban black ghetto.
I'm sure this is correct. AFAIK, this thread is about the UK, though.

All the enemies drop weapons and ammo when killed, and as said, there are plenty of caches around. One just has to be quick switching from weapon to weapon. It would be nice if enemies ran out of ammo though....
Yea, the enemies drop plenty of weapons.... if you want crappy Plasma Pistols and Needlers. You have to totally scrounge to find anything headshot-capable. The Pistol and DMR are great, as is the Needle Rifle, but they are just far to rare. One thing that is nice about the enemies dropping plenty of Plasma Pistols; you can work the "Noob Combo" on the Elites and Brutes like crazy. Works like a charm. That is, if you have a headshot weapon, which you probably won't :p

All this proves is that Beatles fans like to waste their money repurchasing music they already own just because it's available in a new format. I bet that most of the albums and individual songs sold were purchased by people who already own that album/song.
I had about 6 albums on vinyl. I don't have a record player anymore and didn't want to buy CDs, that's why I bought the collection on iTunes.
You can't guess everyone's reasons. Live and Let Live!

I don't know if you like Firefight mode, but they have matchmaking available for that. That way, you aren't competing against other people, so you shouldn't feel too outclassed. And since the max players for that is 4, it finds matches super quick. Maybe give that a shot and see how it goes.
My issue with Firefight is the betrayal system which I hear Bungie is looking at. Because Firefight - Matchmaking IS a competition. When playing gametypes like Sniper - fight, & especially Rocket - fight, there is always the one or two that have to get EVERY kill. I have no problem with that, but since the Sniper & Rocket Fight gametypes involve distance weapons one or two will usually stray into your line of fire. This suddenly becomes YOUR fault, and the idiot who rushed into that swarm of elite you are firing on, gets to boot you from the game. Some players have gotten to the point of abusing the boot feature, which is why Bungie is looking into it.
I admit I am not the biggest fan of Halo multiplayer, not liking the general community that plays.

might return my MBP 17" and say mum said no....
wonder if i can score a freee MBP 17"
Of course you won't.
It is more likely that the whole ipad thing didn't happen either. If it did, why are there no details. Why hasn't the guy stepped up to defend the blogs for not lying. Where are the photos of the ipad with the post it note.
Apple might give something like that away to heal negative PR like the whole "oh poor woman on welfare that saved up but doesn't have a bank account to pay for anything that yelled foul cause Apple, according to their legal rights, didn't take cash for a brief time" stuff last year (and don't try to tell me that she needs good credit for a checking account with a debit card). But they aren't going to hand one to someone for a lame reason like "my wife has me whipped and said I can't have any more toys"

But here's the question though: when we see protective cases for the new Nano? :confused:What do you want that for... my 2 1/2 year old iPod mini doesn't have any flaws - except a minute scratch in the screen after an unfortunate incident where that and my keys ended up in the same trouser pocket - even a tumbling down a concrete stairway didn't leave any marks... Never had any protective case on it (except for the belt clip), the minis are durable little buggers, and hopefully the new nanos will be likewise... :D

It's really amazing to see here people justifying the price of Windows Vista, when not even corporations think about migrating to the "new" OS in 2-years time...Vista is just a rehashed NT, and no company will need it in the short term.
