I trust only AppleInsider, not ThinkSecret. What they say goes, as far as I remember. Remember last year's October event?
AppleInsider: There will be a video-capable iPod coming out next week.
ThinkSecret: Actually, there will be no iPod coming out next week.
ThinkSecret: Actually, there will be an 80GB regular iPod coming out next week.
ThinkSecret: Actually, there WILL be a video-capable iPod coming out today <for it was the day of the event by the time they had finally gotten their facts straight.>
ThinkSecret has had an awful track record the past year or so. Some people here seem to be stuck in the good old days when they were actually a reliable source. Those days are gone. Their sources dried up.
Why would Apple announce their movie store when they don't have a decent video iPod to play them on? What has Apple been working on the past year? Larger capacities? The 5G iPods have not been updated in all this time and yet 80GB drives have been available all along. It just doesn't add up.

1. My statement made perfect sense. Apple builds excellent hardware that competes very well with other expensive hardware, the build quality is better than what anyone else produces, and Apple's Macintosh computers often have unique design that you cannot find elsewhere. Anybody who needs to run Windows and is willing to pay for top quality hardware is well advised to consider buying a Macintosh.
2. You are in LOVE with an ASUS board? I'm in love with my wife. If my MacBook was stolen or damaged I wouldn't shed one tear; I would just wait for the insurance money and buy a new one. You seem to have a strange irrational emotional attachment here.
Apple does not have the best have a build quality better then everyone else. They have some very good computers, but their are companies who build much better computers you have no evidence to back up your statement. Macs use the same hardware as everyone else.

iPad 3 - iPad 3D
I could really see that, with the iPhone 3G (it was actually the 3rd phone) and had 3G.
3G was the 2nd. 3GS was the third.
This would be absolutely awesome! As long as its implimented well and that it has a virtual 3D slider to adjust how much it's all popping up at you.

Interesting glance at the state of the Apple-centric world at that time. Quite a few people clamoring for an Apple PDA. I suppose they finally got it with the iPhone, in a sense -- however PDA is rarely used these days, replaced by smart phones.
Shortly after the iPod debuted, I received a call from Apple asking me if I had heard about the iPod and what I thought of it. I thought it was a neat product, but for $400, it was far out of my budget at that time. For $75, I would have jumped for it.
Two years later I purchased a refurished 2nd generation 10GB iPod, which had a good life for the next five years.

Here's one more. Having grown up there, I'm quite familiar with the place as well. I should see it as a challenge but the familiarity makes it a difficult place for me to photograph.

I like the black and white, it works well with the reflections. I know what you mean about the familiarity making it hard to tackle the subject matter, since I live about 20 miles north of Newport. Sometimes I have to just challenge myself to try to see it with a fresh eye, since it's a bit hard to travel at the moment due to current obligations beyond my control...
Ironically, I was just looking at your food shots on FB before I visited this page, didn't make the connection that you were the same person until I noticed your watermark here. Nice. They made me hungry. :)

lol, please be honest, in next 5 years, you will need only update windows once (XP->Vista), and you will need to update OSX at least 3 times. Apple is ripping people off on this, there is no question about it, all these ".1" incremental update should not have a price more than $60 at all.
Or you could just update from OS X 10.1 to 10.5, for $129. That would be equivalent to updating from XP to Vista, because you would have gone 5 years without a significant upgrade. If you don't think the incremental features of a .1 update are worth the price, then don't buy it...
And if you really want a bargain, buy a family pack to use on up to 5 Macs in your home. Only $199. Try that with Vista!
And those who say that this is just an upgrade price are incorrect. This is the full retail price for a complete boxed install set.

Pirates are douchebags.
Don't worry about it. The guys who can't afford to pay for it and pirate it are usually the folks who just want to "hoard" it rather than use it. If they had any talent to begin with, they'd be making enough money with the tool where the cost of it would be meaningless anyway. ;)

any idea who the 3rd party vendor was? perhaps the hate mail should start flying there way!
That's the rub, isn't it. My first instinct was that they should have named the vendor by name so we know not to buy their products and all could see the smoking ruins of their company and heed the warning: write good software.
Then I realized why they didn't release the name... It's the same problem as for OS vendors-- if you release the details of the attack before it's patched then users pay the price.
That's the publicity vs security debate in a nutshell, methinks.

Interesting discussion.
It seems that many people pirate Adobe products because they want to learn the tools, but don't have a job to pay for it's high prices. Those who are anti-piracy seem to argue that if you have the tools and the know-how than you can easily make enough money to pay for the price.
Do those in the anti-piracy camp have major issues with someone who pirates Adobe products, but doesn't "profit" from them?....i.e doesn't make even enough money to cover the costs of the original products or even makes zero dollars?
Of course it is still illegal, but it seems like everyone's defense revolves around "if you make money off of a product than you should pay for it"..
I personally feel that pirating is wrong in ALL cases. However, I couldn't care less if someone pirated it, and profited in NO way.
Piracy aside, I do think it's interesting to see Adobe going this way, and I don't think it will pay off. At a time when Apple is enabling developers with it's App store to be able to charge less for apps, but earn more money with a higher volume of downloads. Not to mention the customer gets some amazing benefits by using the app store: integration with the os (think Launchpad), easy updates, multiple licenses across a users account, use of itunes account to make purchases, etc
Seems like Adobe is just BEGGING for developers to take away their business. It's already happening with pixelmator, aperature, etc doing 80% of what adobe does, but at fraction of the cost.
I give it one more year, and Adobe's products will be entirely replaceable by App store Apps that will be SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper. Developers will be making their money, the apps will be cheap enough that piracy won't be as big of an issue, and everyone will be happy (except Adobe....and those heavily invested into their software model, and business).

1)what is the point on the iPad? I can read my email in 3D? Do the smiley faces in my emails hover in mid air?
2)3D technology has been tested since the 80s...and they all require silly (and expensive) glasses to wear...3D technology needs to go much further and dump the glasses. Besides, 3D basically stinks...yes, some day it will get really good and our Sunday football games will be killer...but I'm still thinking we're 20 years away from a true 3D "tv" experience in our living rooms for under $3000.
