[According to the report, "Abbey Road" was the best-selling album in the United States, while "Here Comes The Sun" topped the song charts.
It should be interesting to note that when the general public thinks of The Beatles, they think of Lennon/McCartney songs. "Here Comes the Sun" which appears to be the best selling Beatles song on iTunes, was written by George Harrison.

Really like this one Jason. The lighting is right on, and I love the concept of the photo. The fact that your model is stunningly beautiful doesn't hurt either.
May I ask as to the strobes you're using, and how you have them placed? I have a two light strobe system but am still learning to place them for greatest effect.

Readers are reminded that despite detailing many features of the upcoming Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, Steve Jobs opened his presentation (http://biz.yahoo.com/bizj/060807/1327582.html?.v=1) by stating "There's some top secret features we're going to keep a little close to the vest."
Other tidbits from WWDC:
* XCode 2.4 was released today.
* An unconfirmed forum post claims (http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.php?t=304580) that the Mac Pro CPUs are swappable.
* Leopard Server Sneak Peak (http://www.apple.com/server/macosx/leopard/simplesetup.html) with iCal Server, Wiki Server, Spotlight Server and Podcast Producer.

You all crack me up at least, thanks for the chuckles!
Conditional thievery is just something people do in order to justify whatever they are doing unlawfully. Downloading and cracking the Adobe suite? HIGH FIVE! Breaking into a car dealership and driving off with a car you didn't pay for? NO of course not! Because 'that's different' when it isn't. A company offers a product/service and you are using it/taking it without compensation for that item. Digital or physical it's the same thing.
The funniest are the OSS/Linux advocates who claim that "piracy isn't theft" and "it doesn't hurt anyone" and then whine like a baby when someone "violates" the GPL and call for stern measures (such as lawsuits) against the violater.
Hey, if no one is hurt when you do it then no one is hurt when someone does it to you.

This is America, and that person DOES NOT NEED TO JUSTIFY HERSELF TO YOU! If that V10 Excursion ever gets in an accident with your "95+ MPG" car, it will illustrate one very good reason to drive an Excursion, and you will not survive. Even with a five star crash rating, these newer lighter cars are death traps when fitted against large SUVs, these crash ratings do not take into account the advantage created by additional weight. Also, if your considering CO2 as "pollution", are you aware of the fact that only 0.28% of all greenhouse gasses are from human activity ? Not 28%, but 0.28%, the rest is mainly water vapor. With all of the resources that the world is throwing at reducing CO2 emissions we could actually do something useful instead like end world hunger. What we are doing to reduce CO2 is kind of like pissing into the ocean to warm it up, maybe it makes you better but it will not work. Enjoy that "95MPG" golf cart you drive.
Everything has to start some where. I was nearly t-boned by a SUV today that thought they were better than the rest of us... they were running very much running a red light. Get your head out of the sand as to the new world order...
Here in America bigger does not mean better in the end...

Would they base MacWorld around something as simple as wireless this or that? It's got to be big, probably a new product. I'm still leaning towards the GPS thing. Garmin has already announced it will be at MacWorld with new software/product codenamed "Bobcat"

Maybe it's a portable in-car computer system touch screen tablet with the works, how amazing would that be! GPS, mp3, video, phone, etc etc.

I do hope if they are going to up the megapixelage for marketing purposes, they at least give us more memory in the base configuration to handle all the extra space the photos are gonna waste.
Unless of course Sony has secretly created the greatest sensor in the history of the world and the 8MP can be justified. That would be nice.
+1
We need 64GB as an option here.
8MP would be nice but I hope it's gonna be a good quality sensor as well.

It makes sense for a fall release of the fifth generation iPhone if they aren't previewing iOS 5 until WWDC. Most iOS releases have had a preview in March/April with a release soon after WWDC.
As others have said, I don't think that this one will have LTE or 4G capabilities because it just isn't widespread yet. Then again, neither is Thunderbolt.
Come on, June! :apple:

Microsoft has never, does not, and will never make a product with nearly a quarter of the 'cool' factor that Apple does. Microsoft may be the empresarios' top choice, but is dated, dull, dumb. Apple is innovative, young, and sexy.

How much power would it take to do 3D with a 9.7 inch screen? Doesn't it need to be rendered twice?
Also, Nintendo said that touch screens mess with the 3D because of fingerprints and oil, so did they lie or did Apple figure out a way?

Don't forget the additional $1000 that you will have to shell out for hardware that is capable of running Windoze Vista.

So, the way it is now, you buy Photoshop for around $650 and after 18 months you can upgrade for $190. Total: $840 for 36 months, plus you still have your software to use for as long as you want if you choose not to upgrade anymore...
So, $35 x 36 months = $1260 and after the 36 months finnish, you have nothing...
I don't see a big advantage here, unless you only use photoshop in a few projects a year... I don't know anyone who does that, tho...

[It should be prety clear to most people that an iPod with a screen large enough to read would be WAY to large to cary around on a belt clip and use as a music player.
It would be hard to make a good book reader. Even the screen on the Mac Book is not nearly as good as a printed page and I can't image a MB like screen on an iPod
What I'm waiting for are the "iGlasses". It is a display that look like a pair of eye glasses. Some kind of projector is built into the frame.

I think there was a quote from Mozart, who obviously didn't know the Beatles, who didn't rank Jesus very high as a composer, but who put Bach ahead of Beethoven.
Mozart must have had an amazing talent of premonition given the time differences involved in what your saying. (Mozart died 7 years before the earliest known date of Beethovens first 6 string quartets).
Beethoven's music was adored when he was alive, Bach only became popular after his death. Bach = Revisionism.
Also, the Jesus thing wasn't THAT subtle?

The only thing I don't like is that the album art view options don't work for iPod music.
The EQ column option is cool, I don't know if it's new or not, but I just discovered it.
I can't figure out how to do the reverse iPod sync, has anyone done it yet?

The name "iPhone 4G" adds a letter, it doesn't remove one. It allows a 4G phone to be marketed as such, just as they did with the 3G.
I don't care what they call it, just build one that can make calls without blaming the carrier for Apples sloppy work.
Funny how not long ago there was a poll and most who responded voted to keep the tiny 3.5" display. Now that the fanboys god has considered a 4.0" suddenly the push-back went away. So hypocritical, fanboys wait for their god to tell them what's good for them.

One of the most practical/feasible forms may be to just have 2 screens...an iPod as one screen AND a Tablet screen (i.e. eInk, LCD, etc.). In this way, regular iPod users can CHOOSE to just carry around JUST their iPod for music/video, or take along an ADDITIONAL tablet screen if they desire to watch a movie on the larger screen or read documents (e-books) or email or other apps (albeit with a shorter battery life).
Need to still have a "cool" form factor, such that the iPod nests into the tablet screen seamlessly and not some stupid corded device.
This idea would give the consumer both expandability and more incentive to buy an iPod. What most consumers DON'T want is to buy more and more devices that don't "leverage" each other. MOST consumers don't have an unlimited amount of disposable income to buy a shuffle, a nano, an iPodV, a Mac Tablet, an iPhone, etc.
Your thoughts?

The secular bible might come off as a silly idea. But i've often pondered what i will tell my kids when the day comes and they ask "some people in my class are christian and some are jewish, what are we?" Kids hate feeling excluded, so i feel like saying we don't have a religion wouldnt go over well because they really don't understand what it means.
Free.
Free to think as we want, when we want. Free to be critical of dogma. Free not to have a label attached to us.
My eldest son who is 17 is actually quite a bit more informed on the religious practices of most world religions than any of his classmates, religious or not.
As mentioned, I don't see the necessity in having a book on how not to do something. A genuine guide on humanistic ethics and morality might be useful but then most people, religious or not, might find it so.

I'm grateful that I haven't had any problems with my MB, although I did have a couple kernel panics.

Any 3D technology that relies on both eyes being perfectly stereo aligned is not a good technology. Anyone with a slightly lazy eye will get dizzy and experience headaches, for people like me who can see only slightly with one eye it becomes a huge problem triggering migraines. Also, any children under 18 (I think it's 18) should not be looking at 3D as they can become adversely affected later in life due to the unnatural perspective vs viewing distance.
I also think 3D would just die, but we have marketeers that just won't leave the subject alone.
If Apple does do 3D, I think it will be the head tracking kind, which should effectively be called "motion aware" or "perspective aware" instead of 3D.

So, enough with this buy American or MADE IN USA stuff. It's all about money and that will be made wherever it's FREE from too many taxes, restrictions and regulations.
I know what you mean, all those restrictions and regulations prohibiting the dumping of chemicals in the rivers and poison gasses into the air or killing endangered animals. And the worst is that one about not being able to use slaves. And having to pay for medical costs it someone is injured. So his hand got smashed in a machine, why can't I just fire him for it?
Just how is a guy to make a buck in the US anymore?

God ****ing damn it.....update keeps failing right in the last few minutes. Of course iTunes won't let me revert to the last firmware that worked, it will only let me try to update and restore. Seriously, what the ****? If it didn't work the last 3 times, what makes you think it'll work now?

Seriously, i could care less about the wait...my computer works fine. I am currently using an Apple IIc...it kicks ass. I had to update it a bit to be able to use the internet though. Do you think i would be better to wait for the Santa Rosa platform to get a MBP? or just get the merom on the current.....and please don't say "if you keep waiting, there will always be something new around the corner and you will wait forever."
I still have an Apple IIe somewhere is my house those computers seriously were cool when they were released how many years ago.
And you a right about putting off until the next update, I think most users forget about the "what do I really need?" question and concerntrate on the latest and greatest "next tuesday" release. I'm still using my G4 Mac Mini, it does everything I need but it doesn't have a Merom, Santa Rosa, etc and I am one happy Mac user.

I'm all for apple pushing back the iPhone 5 so they can incorporate 4G. This would make sense since ATT is currently buying T-Mobile who has had 4G all over commercials for a while. If apple waits til 2012 to be the last phone to adopt 4G then sales would definitely take a little hit. I remember getting the original iPhone 3G, and its not like 3G was everywhere then... pretty much big city metropolis areas anyways.

I'm guessing they did that so they could use the same adapters for both. The laptop itself still has a 60W ps.
A shame really if true...the MBP power supply is pretty big and not that portable (compared to the old pbooks and even old MBs).

this made my day. little things like this go a long way for a companies user base. Reminds me of Pixar's stint for a little girls dying request to see the movie (http://www.justpressplay.net/movies/movie-news/5530-pixar-grants-dying-10-year-olds-wish-to-see-qupq-before-she-dies.html)

Good, now everyone can shut the hell up and stop bitching about the processor. But still, you all should've just bought the machine a while ago rather than wait until now.
And I swear, if there is any talk about Santa Rosa and when it's going to be in the MacBooks, I'll break some shins.
that reminds me...when is santa rosa gonna show up in the macbooks? lets chart these releases and make an educated guess :p

Yeah, but Home Basic is crap.
A lot of users don't mind if they get crap, as long as it's cheap crap. I can't count the number of times I've heard recently people saying that all they want from their computer is to be able to surf the web, check email, and do a Word document.
It goes back to the basic Mac vs. PC debate. People have often said you can get cheaper PCs than Macs, which has long been the case. They may be crappy PCs, but they're cheaper than the low-end (but less crappy) Mac consumer models.
It looks like Apple is determined to show Macs are competitively priced, and in some cases cheaper than comparable PCs. That is very good news. But in terms of the OS, if you can get one version of Vista for $99 and Leopard for $129, the less knowledge/less fussy user is only going to see the price tag unfortunately.

Exactly, would anyone buy a car for sticker price when the next year's model is coming our in 1-2 weeks? Heck no. That said, this is the best time to get a great deal on the older model because the dealers usually drop the prices significantly. Buying a computer shouldn't be that different. Even Apple thinks so, because you can buy the older model for cheaper in the discount/sale section.
Therefore, even if you don't care about the latest technology (and this is perfectly OK), it would be foolish to buy a MBP right now. These same models will show up in the sales section in 1-2 weeks for a few hundred dollars cheaper. And if you still want to throw your money away, I'll gladly take it instead. :)
Apple's sale /discount section... where is that? I have been checking the refurb store if that's what your talkign about... which is like buying a used car, not a discounted new one. Sure it's still a solid car but it's gonna have some miles on it, some dings and scratches. The refurb store is definitely not a discount store for the same product

EDIT: Holy crap, that was pretty convincing to a relative amateur like me. They seemed to basically do whatever they wanted to the system. Was there something underhanded here that I didn't catch that would make this unusable in reality, or is there valid concern based on this demo?
I haven't seen the video. But if the description of the vulnerability says "seize control" or "aribtrary code execution", it's the real thing. They can do whatever they want, although sometimes restricted by the privileges of the user that the compromised process is running as.

I hardly think you know what percentage of the time these programs are abused.
Are these programs sometimes abused? Certainly and it's a problem but unless you have numbers don't claim that these social programs are largely in vain.
I will claim that food stamps are mostly abused. I don't have numbers, but I have eyes, and have known several people that have received food stamps. I have had people I know, as well as strangers, ask me if I would buy their food stamps. I wish food stamps were limited with what you could buy, something like the way WIC does.

24 hours battery life!! WOW. I want one, in addition to the shuffle! I bought my 4GB nano last month, but should have waited....
~Shard~ my jaw dropped when iLounge first reported the nano was 52% smaller in volume. Too bad it wasn't true, because then I would have had to get one!

I was really hoping for an iPhone this summer, but my contract w/ another company runs until 11/30/11 anyway. It's going to be a pain dealing w/ this HTC Hero for the rest of the year, but if the iPhone 5 comes with LTE to be "future-proofed", so to speak, I'll be pretty happy to wait. Having to wait until 2012, though, will be painful. Hopefully it's a fall release to rev up for the holidays.

people are always worried about "save the trees..." and "there's too much over-population..." Have u ever flown over this country? there's thousands of acres of nothingness. i'm confused.
I guess you are at that. If you fly over my country, Australia, you'll see huge deserts for thousands of kilometers and not much population. That's the ecology for most of Australia, save the East coast. What population Australia can sustain has long been hotly disputed. But that's not the point. You fly over the Arabian deserts or Siberia in Russina, you won't see a lot of vegetation or people either. Not everywhere is suitable for people, livestock or agriculture. America has a lot of different climates and ecosystems too, including vast deserts. But some of those wide open spaces used to be covered in forest, remember. It's the deforestation of the fertile areas, which are also ideal for agriculture and populations, which is a worry. None more so than the Amazon or Malaysia.
Since the dawn of the PC era, they predicted that computers would cut our use of paper drastically, since we would have little need of it. The reality is vastly different. Our consumption doubled in short order with the advent of the affordable printer. We are far more prone to wasting paper than ever; a tiny typo, or a smudge on the page? Reprint the entire 50-page report. Photocopiers has thousands of students copying entire sets of books from the library. It's easy, convenient and cheap. Rainforest timber is what makes it cheap, alas. iPods and an iTunes Store with eBook functionality, however popular, even if it starts a huge fad in other brands as well, such as Sony's offerings, won't make much of a difference in the scheme of things, and any savings easily eroded by continual growth in consumption.
Well, in the affluent countries, it could affect the printers of periodicals and maybe newspapers if they're all offered online, or if you can go to the newsagency, download Wired or The Times via BlueTooth with an automatic transaction approved with a thumbprint. Who really want to struggle with huge broadsheet newspapers in the train. Good for publishers, not for printers.

Any one see this in da newest iMac??!!! Didn't think so, thank goodness!!! I'll freakin stick to da keyboard!!
Anyone see the Magic Touchpad released without explanation? just wait.
It's no Wacom Tablet
This was only a speed bump. I believe Apple will release Touch Macs (already Apple Inc.) as an additional product line along side standard Macs, to ease the transition.
There will always be keyboards, for keyboard shortcuts if not the obvious bulk text entry. Half the work done by pro-applications (not just Apple's) is done with keyboard shortcuts. It's the mouse that's done for. Apple finally perfect the mouse, and they kill it.

I agree that this would be cool, but what would make it even better is enhanced iSync or other capability for third parties to take advantage and make content available. I suppose the iTMS could handle it, but the user should be able to load whatever he or she wants on it, I would think.
well as long as it can be imported into iTunes then its all good.

Having just started filming weddings and shooting my first indie film, I cannot wait for this to arrive in the Mac App Store in June! Although I enjoy using iMovie, I feel a bit underwhelmed now with my use for the program. Being that this has a somewhat similar UI, I'm wondering if the learning curve won't be as steep. I'm just blown away with all the things they mentioned that happened on ingest. This will really free up a lot of time to focus on what matters - editing. Now if only :apple: will give some news on/release the new iMacs.

Adobe flash... HA!
The wizards at Apple can't even make a mobile device that will run that load of crap. I hope that crap-ware never makes it into any IOS based products.
Considering it runs like crap on Android from what I have read there is no way as long as steve is around that will go in an iOS.
